I do not like New Year's resolutions and do not plan on making any. Instead, I resolve to take Today as it is, leave Yesterday behind and let Tomorrow come as it may. And I am likely to resolve tomorrow in the same manner.
I am really working on staying in the moment and accepting it as it is. This past fall has been a nightmare and I'm tired of being mired in it. I'm tired of fearing it will come back. My wife is healthy today. I am happy today. My children are cared for today. Of course, today isn't all sunshine and lollipops and puppies and tuna & noodle casserole, but it is as it is and there is nothing I can do but work on how I react and accept this truth.
There is nothing that can be done about the past but to learn from it and there is nothing the future that we can know or can control. Today is all we have, all that is manifest and it is gone the moment as we notice it.
I have to get back to work. Today's coffee break is over.
Happy December 30th everybody!!!
I'm just glad there's a coffee break tomorrow.
ReplyDeleteHappy December 31, almost!
I'm with you on the not-making-resolutions for New Year's deal.
