Standing on a corner waiting
To cross or should I
Walk to the next road?
Cross now and commit to
Following this road or
Risk an unkown detour
This road is familiar I
Have been down it before it
Takes me to where I've been
The other road goes
To where I know not but
Perhaps to better places
Standing on a corner waiting
The traffic never ceasing the
Light never changing
I wonder what is
Down there
On the other road.
It made me smile that you labled this "Bad Poetry". Anything that's meaningful to you can never be bad.
ReplyDeleteFor your bravery, here is one of mine:
A rhyming poem’s what I do best
I do it better than the rest
You can put me to the test
But all my words carry my zest
It’s been a while since pen to page
Been busy punching out my rage
Been trapped inside my crazy cage
But advice has freed me from a sage
Anxiety and worry matter not
Peace and serenity should be sought
Can search the stores but it can’t be bought
But if you pay attention it can be taught
Surround yourself with peaceful things
Watch joy and serenity that it brings
Listen carefully as the heart, it sings
Enjoy the soul as it grows wings
And wrap yourself in love so deep
Its memory hold close, it’s yours to keep
Those tears of regret, a waste to weep
Let joy and love permeate and seep
Perfection is not what you should chase
Your unique traits you should embrace
See your own light as beauty and grace
And those negative thoughts simply erase
You’re good and kind and loved so much
Self doubt and loathing, an unneeded crutch
So put down the angst and disquiet and such
You’ve only to reach out for love to touch
I like it! Thanks for sharing. Yeah, I'm a little self depreciating on my poetry. I'm a bad editor and critic of my own stuff. There is one poem that I wrote and put out there that I'm fairly proud of. I posted it at my old blog about learning guitar. Let me see if I can find it. Yep... http://is.gd/g20sK
ReplyDeletethat is, the blog was about learning guitar, not the poem.
ReplyDeleteFound it. Thanks for sharing....again.
